World Famous Pushkar Fair Begins

November 01, 2022 – With the start of this month November. If you are planning to travel somewhere and have not decided where to go then, you can consider going to Pushkar. The Pushkar fair has started today, i.e., 1st November. The Pushkar Fair of Rajasthan is famous all over the globe and tourists from different countries visit this fair every year. This fair is also known as the world’s largest camel festival.

Pushkar Fair is one of the most famous festivals celebrated in Rajasthan. One can experience watching decorated camels performing different moves in sand. You can also experience the unique confluence of art and culture. However, due to the outbreak of the lumpy virus this year, an eight-day program has been organized without the famous cattle fair.

Tourists from all countries are invited.

The Pushkar Fair will start on 1st November, i.e., today, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will inaugurate the festival. For the inauguration, lamps will be lit in Pushkar Sarovar, and there will be Maha Aarti. The Rajasthan Tourism Department has invited lakhs of tourists from different countries under the ‘Pushkar Chalo Abhiyan.’ Various competitions are also being organized at this fair. Traditional and fusion bands will also showcase their performances at the fair. Apart from this, delicious dishes and beautiful craftsmanship will also be displayed at the fair.

Schedule of the Program
November 1st

  • The fair will start with worship, flag hoisting, and Nand agada playing at the fairground at 10 am, along with a sand art festival.
  • Mandana competition and group dance of girl students will be organized at the fairground from 10.30 am.
  • Chak De Rajasthan Football match organized between local and foreign tourists at 11 am
  • Deepdan, Rangoli, Maha Aarti, Pushkar Abhishek, and Candle Balloon (Make a Wish) at Pushkar Sarovar Ghat at 6 pm  
  • Veena Cassettes Cultural Performance at Mela Ground Stage at 7 pm and Fire Work at Sarovar 

November 2nd

  • Organized Nature Walk at Sanjhi Chhat at 6.30 am
  • Sand Art at Water Work Pump House from 8 am to 8 pm 
  • Langdi Leg, Satoliya Match and Gili Danda Competition between local and foreign players at Mela Ground from 10:00 am to 11.30 am
  • Cultural performance on the fairground stage from 7 pm onwards from West Zone and North Zone Cultural Center

November 3

  • Sand Art at Water Works Pump House from 8 am
  • Kabaddi match between local and foreign players at Mela Ground at 10 am 
  • Kite competition at the fairground at 11 am 
  • Inter panchayat samiti rural sports tug of war, volleyball, and kabaddi match at the fairground at 1 pm
  • The cultural performance will be from West Zone and North Zone on the fairground stage at 7 pm.

November 4th

  • Mustache competition at the fairground at 11 am, turban and tilak competition among foreign tourists at the fairground at 11.30 am
  • The final match of Inter Panchayat Samiti Rural Sports Competition at one o’clock in the afternoon
  • Voice of Pushkar Local Artist at Mela Ground Stage at 6 pm, Maha Aarti at Pushkar Sarovar Ghat 
  • There will be a cultural performance group of Gulabo Sapera at the fairground at 7 pm.

November 6th

  • Nature Walk at Sanjhi Chhat at 6.30 am
  • Sand Art at Water Works Pump House at 8 am.
  • Women’s Matka Race at Mela Ground at 10.30 am
  • Handicraft market at Shilpgram from 11 am to 8 pm
  • Musical chair competition among women at Mela Ground from 11.30 am
  • Sand Art Competition at Waterwork Pump House from 4 pm to 7 pm
  • Voice of Pushkar Local Artist at Mela Ground Stage at 6 pm and Maha Aarti at Pushkar Sarovar Ghat
  • Various Rajasthani dances and arts will be organized under Best of Rajasthan on the fairground stage at 7 pm.

7 November

  • Sand Art at Water Works Pump House at 8 am 
  • Photography Competition at Mela Ground at 10.30 pm
  • Handicraft market at Shilpgram from 11 am to 8 pm
  • Maha Aarti at Pushkar Sarovar Ghat at 6 pm
  • There will be Bollywood Night and Fireworks at the Mela Ground at 7 pm

8 November

  • Sand Art at Water Works Pump House at 8 am.
  • The winners of the Mega Cultural Event, Prize Distribution, Group Dance, Kala Jatha, Jail and Police Band, Matka Race, Bori Race, Spoon Race, Tug of War, etc. will be awarded as part of the closing ceremony at Mela Ground at 9 am.
  • Shilpgram handicraft market will be held at Shilpgram from 11 am to 8 am
  • Maha Aarti organized at Pushkar Ghat at 6 pm
