According to astrology, Sun is entering Sagittarius on December 16; Kharmas will start, and Kharmas will end as soon as Sun enters Capricorn on January 14. Therefore, according to the scriptures, doing any auspicious work, like marriage, mundan rituals, etc., is prohibited during this time.
