SOP for Chardham Yatra 2021 to be Issued soon, Tourism Department

June 26, 2021 – In order to bring tourism and pilgrimage on track in Uttarakhand amid Corona epidemic, the cabinet has decided to Start Chardham Yatra from 1st July 2021. Soon, The Standard Operating Method (SOP) will be issued by the Tourism Department.

Like previous year, this time too covid rules will be applicable to prevent corona infection. To reduce overcrowding, the number of pilgrims visiting the Chardhams will be limited. In which in a day only 1200 people in Badrinath Dham, 800 in Kedarnath, 600 in Gangotri and 400 in Yamunotri Dham will be allowed to visit.

Devasthanam Board Chief Executive Officer and Garhwal Commissioner Ravinath Raman has already given there approval to cabinet to start Chardham Yatra. In view of the corona pandemic, only limited numbers of pilgrims will be allowed to visit.

Starting 1st July, People of Chamoli district will be able to visit Badrinath, Kedarnath of Rudraprayag district and people of Uttarkashi district with negative report of covid investigation in Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. Whereas from July 11, people of the entire state will be allowed to go on conditional travel. If the situation of Corona remains normal, the government can open the journey for pilgrims from other states as well.
