October 28, 2022 – Hillsqueen Shimla is getting drenched with Gujarati tourists. This week 80 to 90 tempo travelers are reaching Shimla with Gujarati tourists every day. Assembly elections are proposed in Gujarat in December, due to which Shimla is expected to buzz with Gujarati tourists in November. There are also Diwali holidays in Gujarat till November 15. With the increase in the movement of tourists, the work of taxi operators has also gained momentum. Many city taxis are being booked for the local site scene.
Tourists coming from Gujarat are traveling by air or rail. Tourists reaching Delhi and Chandigarh by air are reaching Shimla by booking luxury taxis. Tourists arriving by rail are coming to Shimla by booking tempo travelers from Ambala and Kalka. Madan Bansal, the Vishal Himachal Taxi Operator Union Shimla convened, said that about 80 to 90 tempo travelers and more than 200 taxis reach Shimla daily for Gujarati tourists.
Booking of taxis has also increased for the local site scene in Shimla. Taxis are being booked for Taradevi, Sankatmochan, Jakhu, Chail Kufri, Narkanda, Naldehra, and Tatapani. Naveen Paul, president of Travel Agents Association Shimla, said that after Himachal, assembly elections would be announced in Gujarat. Therefore, any Gujarati tourists are expected to reach Shimla in November, ahead of the elections in December.
Waiting reached from 70 to 80 in the toy train
From this week onwards, the movement of tourists has also increased in the toy train from Kalka to Shimla. There is a waiting list of 17 seats in Rail Motor Car for this weekend. Shivalik Deluxe Express has 37 seats waiting for Saturday. Waiting of 50 to 60 in Himalayan Queen while waiting of around 80 in Kalka-Shimla Express has reached.
