
<p>November 18, 2022 – The scam is flourishing in the name of online booking tourists visiting Manali. Scammers are targeting Tourists and hotel operators by making fake hotel websites. Recently one such case has come to the limelight in Manali. Manali police have registered a case of cheating on the complaint given by the hotel owner. The matter is still under investigation.</p>



<p>The hotel owner alleges that someone created a fake website; the website has a similar name to the hotel&#8217;s official website, misleading people looking for advance bookings—the scammer is asking people to send them the booking amount using UPI.</p>



<p>Tourists from all over the globe visit Manali throughout the year. Most people prefer to book their hotels in advance to avoid any inconvenience. , However, nowadaysCyber, Thug Gangs have become active. They are heating tourists by making a fake website running in the name of a hotel and asking them for the booking amount using UPI methods like Google Pay .. etc.</p>



<p>In a complaint given to the local police in Manali, The hotel owner said that someone had created a parallel website similar to the one running in the name of his hotel. So tourists are booking from there, considering it as their hotel&#8217;s official website. Police have registered a case and started an investigation. DSP Manali Hemraj Verma said a case had been reported on the complaint given by the hotel owner. The matter is being investigated.</p>
