Rain Started in Dehradun-Mussoorie, Yellow Alert Issued in Eight Districts

June 19, 2022 – Weather will change again in Uttarakhand from today. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh for three days from today. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert. At the same time, the day started with heavy rain in Mussoorie. Also there is fog. At the same time, as the day progressed, it started raining in Dehradun as well. It is cloudy in other parts of the state as well.

Director of Meteorological Center Mr. Vikram Singh said that after a few days of inactivity, now the monsoon is becoming active again. After the onset of monsoon, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in eight districts for three consecutive days.

People living on the banks of rivers, streams as well as people living in landslide prone areas need to be careful due to heavy rains. On the other hand, Dehradun DM, Ms. Sonika has given instructions to be alert along with taking a meeting of all the officials related to disaster management.

All the SDMs were directed that they would stay in their respective areas. Ambulances should be arranged with JCB in landslide prone areas, so that immediate relief work can be started in case of disaster.
