Egaas Festival in Uttarakhand, Public Holiday on 4th November

November 02, 2022 – On November 4, there will be a public holiday for the folk festival Egaas. After the announcement of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the government issued a holiday order on Tuesday.

Recently, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami tweeted in the Garhwali dialect. In the tweet, he wrote that ‘aava! ham sabbi milake egaas manola, naee peedhee te apanee lok sanskrti se judola. lokaparv igaas hamaaru lok sanskrti ku prateek ch. ye parv ten aur khaas banon ka vaasta ye din hamaara raajy ma chhuttee raali, taaki ham sabbi ye tyohaar tai apana kutumb, gaun ma dhoomadhaam se mane sako. hamaari naee peedhee bhee hamaara paaramparik tyauhaaron se juni rau, yu hamaaru uddeshy ch.’ So now the government has issued a holiday order on the day of egaas Bagwal.

According to the order issued by Secretary-in-charge Vinod Kumar Suman, all government and non-government offices, educational institutions, establishments, banks, and treasuries will remain closed on November 4. It is worth noting that 11 days after Diwali, the folk festival Egaas Bagwal is celebrated in the state. The aim of the government is that everyone should celebrate this festival with great pomp and connect the new generation with this festival.
