September 20, 2023 – In a harrowing incident on the Har Ki Doon trek, one member of an eight-person team, aged 62, tragically lost their life due to a sudden cardiac arrest. Mohan Singh Kathait, the station officer, reported that a group of eight individuals from West Bengal had embarked on an adventurous journey to the picturesque Har Ki Doon valley in the Rupin Supin Sanctuary.
Among the trekkers was Sudhir Chandrasen Gupta, the son of Samir Chandrasen Gupta, residing at Nihar Nandani Apartment, Barrackpore, West Bengal. Sadly, in the middle of the night on Monday, Sudhir Chandrasen Gupta suffered a fatal heart attack during the trek.
The lifeless body of Sudhir Chandrasen Gupta was transported to the Primary Health Center in Mori with the assistance of the Revenue Police and regular police personnel. At the health center, a post-mortem report was prepared, and the body was subsequently sent to the Community Health Center in Mori for further post-mortem examination. This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable challenges that can arise during treks, highlighting the importance of adequate preparation and medical readiness when venturing into remote and challenging terrains.
