Located after a Trek of 9 – 10 Km from main town of Munsiyari with stunning views of Great Himalayas. Khaliya Top might host upcoming winter games. Auli has already been hosting winter games since decade.
A proposal has already been made to develop the region. The tough part is that the region comes under reserve forest land & the forest department has already applied restrictions on camping & commercial activities in the region.
The proposed land should be under UTDB (Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board) instead of Forest Department for its development in turned this into skiing hub.
Locals are already exited about this news. This will not only promote the region internationally, but will also help in providing employment to people living in surrounding area.
