Garjia Zone Open for Tourists, Corbett National Park

November 02, 2022 – The Garjia Zone of Corbett National Park is now open for tourists. On the first day, 282 Indian and 14 foreign tourists enjoyed Jungle safari at Garjia Zone. They spotted two tigers. The Garjia Zone was closed in June. After that, NTCA banned safari at Garjia zone.

After getting permission from NTCA, the Corbett administration started safari at the zone on Tuesday morning by making a gate from Ringauda. Deputy director Neeraj Sharma and MLA representative Madan Joshi flagged off the gypsy of the tourists. Bina Devi, an elderly lady of Ringauda, ​​inaugurated the gate by cutting the lace. On this occasion, Park Warden Amit Gwasikoti, Eco-Tourism Ranger Sanjay Pandey, Bijrani Ranger Binder Pal, and local villagers were present.

Bijrani Ranger Binderpal said that on the first day, 25 gypsies went on Jungle safari in the morning, whereas 30 gypsies went in the evening shift. 119 Indians and nine foreigners took safari in the morning, whereas 163 Indians and four foreign tourists visited in evening. So 282 Indian and 14 foreign tourists enjoyed the jungle safari on the first day. Tourists spotted two tigers in the morning shift, whereas one tiger and a leopard were spotted in the evening.
