February 24, 2023 – There may be a ban on carrying phones during darshan in Badrinath-Kedarnath temples. The temple committee is seriously considering this proposal. The committee team that returned after studying the management and arrangements of Tirupati Balaji, Vaishno Devi, Mahakal, and Somnath temples has suggested this. The team has submitted the report to the temple committee. The presentation of the information has also been done. After discussing with the Chief Minister, the committee will issue the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Committee chairman Ajendra Ajay has confirmed this. According to him, during the Yatra last year, there were many problems in Badrinath and Kedarnath temples due to YouTubers and bloggers. So the team returned after studying that there is a complete ban on carrying phones in all four major temples of the country.
The study team has also pointed out that there is a dress code for the devotees in the country’s famous temples. The temple committee also believes that the devotees should have darshan dressed dignifiedly. Let us tell you that there has been a controversy once regarding the dress.
There will be a Ban on Priests and Employees taking Donations
The temple committee can ban the priests and employees from taking donations and Dakshina from the devotees during darshan in the temple. The study team has informed that in all four significant temples, there is a strict ban on the employees and priests associated with the temple management from taking donations and Dakshina.
Received an offering of about 65 crores last year
Last year, the temple committee received an offering of Rs 65 crore from the devotees. Devotees can make offerings in donation boxes through a transparent system. This will increase the income of the temple committee.
The team returned after studying the arrangement of the four major temples of the country and has submitted its report. Their presentation has been done. Then, an SOP will be prepared to incorporate the suggestions which will be practical in the interest of the devotees and the temple system. It will be issued after receiving guidance from the Chief Minister.
