Tourist from Kolkata Died During Rafting in Rishikesh

&NewLine;<p>October 11&comma; 2022 –&nbsp&semi;A tourist from Kolkata died while doing river rafting here at rishikesh&period; According to sources a raft carrying 8 tourists from Kolkata got flipped at Rollar Coaster Rapid&comma; While 7 people were successfully rescued by the rafting guide but Shubhashish Varman &lpar;Resident of Kolkata&rpar;&comma; 62-year-old lost his life in this accident&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The group left for rafting from Shivpuri to Rishikesh around 10&colon;30 am on Tuesday by the Red Chilli Company&&num;8217&semi;s raft that at 11&colon;15 am only a short distance away there raft overturned in the rapid named Roller Coaster&comma; after which the guide of the raft safely rescued 7 out of 8 tourist&period; Shubhashish&&num;8217&semi;s condition deteriorated till he was brought by Emergency Service 108 to Government Hospital Rishikesh for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Shubhashish had come to visit Haridwar and Rishikesh with his entire family for rafting&comma; there were a total of 16 people in this group&comma; who were rafting through two rafts&period; Out of which the said accident happened with one of the tourists&comma; after which there was a stir among the family members&period; On whose information&comma; the police reached the dead body and started investigation&period; Arvind Bhardwaj&comma; operator of the rafting company&comma; said that the booking of these tourists was done through online&period; As soon as the information of the incident was received&comma; Sports Adventure Officer of Tehri district Mr Khushal Singh Negi has also reached the spot&comma; who says that the rafting was opened due to low water level&comma; as a result of which recorded number of tourists were reaching Rishikesh but today This accident has happened in the morning&comma; Mr Khushal Singh Negi assured that an appropriate action will be taken after investigating the matter&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
