President Draupadi Murmu Commences Three-Day Visit to Uttarakhand

November 07, 2023 – President Draupadi Murmu has begun her three-day visit to Uttarakhand, with security arrangements heightened across various regions, including Dehradun, Garhwal, and Kumaon. Several programs are scheduled during her visit.

Here is the President’s itinerary:

  • Tuesday: President will depart from Delhi for Bareilly at 9:55 AM on a special plane and arrive in Bareilly at 10:40 AM. From there, she will proceed to Pantnagar by MI-17 helicopter, departing at 10:50 AM and arriving at 11:25 AM. In the evening, at 3:25 PM, the President will take off from Pantnagar by MI-17 helicopter and arrive at the GTC Heliport in Dehradun at 4:40 PM.
  • Wednesday: The President will travel from GTC Heliport to Badrinath Heliport at 9:20 AM and arrive at 10:20 AM. At 11:40 AM, she will depart from Badrinath and reach Srinagar Heliport at 12:15 PM. Later, at 3:50 PM, the President will depart from Srinagar Heliport and arrive at GTC Heliport in Dehradun at 4:40 PM.
  • Thursday: The President will depart from Dehradun on a special plane at 12:05 PM and arrive in Delhi at 12:50 PM.

President Murmu will also participate in the 35th convocation ceremony of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, where she will be the chief guest. The event will be attended by Governor (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Defense Minister Ajay Bhatt, and Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi.

During the convocation, 1,041 students who have completed their courses in 2022-23 will be awarded degrees, including 626 undergraduates, 310 postgraduates, and 105 PhDs. Eleven gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals will be awarded based on academic excellence. Additionally, the most outstanding student will receive the Kuladhipati Gold Medal.

Five students will receive awards for exceptional achievements in various fields, including the Saraswati Panda Award, Shrimati Nagamma Shantabai Award, Dr. Ram Shiromani Tiwari Award, Chaudhary Charan Singh Memorial Intellectual Award, and Puran Anand Adlakha Award. Two students will be honored with the Bharat Ratna Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant Award.
