June 15, 2021 – As per the latest reports, The state government took a U-Turn and said that “Chardham Yatra 2021” will remain suspended, Tourism department will issue a separate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) regarding the operation of The Chardham Yatra.
Earlier, Government spokesperson Subodh Uniyal informed that with the mandatory RTPCR test report of Covid-19, local people will be able to visit the Dham in their respective districts.
The matter is pending in court
When the matter was investigated, it was found that the matter regarding the opening of Chardham Yatra is under consideration in the court. On June 16, the state government has to present its side on the Chardham Yatra in court. Only after this, the government will be able to take any decision regarding the Chardham Yatra. Government spokesperson Subodh Uniyal admitted that the decision was changed as the matter of Chardham Yatra was pending in the court.
June 14, 2021 – The Uttarakhand government has extended the covid curfew till 22 June. At the same time, Chardham Yatra has also been started for the people of three districts of the state.
RT-PCR & Chardham Yatra 2021
With this, now the Chardham Yatra 2021 has been opened in three districts of the state. The Yatra has been opened for the people of the Chamoli, Uttarkashi, and Rudraprayag districts. But RT-PCR negative report will be necessary for Chardham Yatra 2021.
The information was shared by Mr Subodh Uniyal. He said that a new SOP would be issued by today evening.
However, as for now Char Dham Yatra will remain suspended for people living in other districts of Uttarakhand.
