Since unlock 1.0 was applied I saw a dramatic rise in phone calls & social media posts about travelers asking if its okay to travel Uttarakhand now ?
The answer for above question is quite confusing,
According to an Order passed by Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) with its letter no. 281 /USDMA-792(2020), Dated 7th June 2020 in reference to letter no. 40-03/2020-DM-I(A) Of Ministry of Home Affairs, Goverment of India dated 30th may 2020, Orders & Guidelines issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India dated 4th June 2020. The government circulated guidelines to open Hotels & Hospitality Service, Restaurants, Shopping Malls, Religious places/ Places of worships.
So, Hotels & Resorts/ Restaurants/ Religious Places really open in Uttarakhand ?
According to 1.1 of guidelines issued by state goverment of Uttarakhand, All Hotels/ Bed & Breakfast, Homestay & Hospitality Services can operate and are allowed to take tourist if they are outside containment zones & municipal area of dehradun. Those under containment zones & municipal area of dehradun will remain closed till further orders.
Happy ? Wait! Wait!
According to 1.2 of guidelines, Hotel Owner can’t take bookings from High Load Covid-19 infected cities & Those coming from Non High Load Covid-19 infected cities should book there stay for a minimum of 7 Days.
Smart ? Thinking about Booking a place for 7 Days & Leaving early for a different hotel or place ?
If you are thinking this way then this might bring trouble. If you violate this 7 day rule then appropriate penal action under different sections of IPC, Epidemics Diseases Act and Disaster Management Act will be applied upon you.
Before you Check/Inn your Room/ Accommodation you have to sign a self declaration that you will not visit any public premises or tourist attractions in Uttarakhand during your stay in the Hotel. If found violating then appropriate action will be taken against you as per provisions of section 51 to 60 of the DM Act, 2005 and under section 188 of the IPC.
So, what should I do ?
You are free & can plan a 7 day quarantine or You can wait till further directions from State Government of Uttarakhand.
