Badrinath Dham Closed for Winters

November 19, 2022 – Badrinath Dham was closed today (Saturday) at 3.35 pm for winter as per rituals. Around 10,000 pilgrims participated in the closing prayer at Badrinath Dham on this occasion.

The pilgrims danced on the musical army band tunes. After the closure of the doors, the idol doli of Kuber and Uddhav Ji left for Bamani village. Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Ji Maharaj was also present this year. BKTC President Ajendra Ajay was also present. More than 17 lakh 60 thousand pilgrims visited Badrinath Dham this year, a new record.

Ghrit Kambal Prepared By Women of Mana Village

Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee’s media in-charge, Dr. Harish Gaur, said that Lord Badrinath was covered with Ghrit Kambal (wool blanket soaked in ghee) prepared by the women of Mahila Mangal Dal of Mana village. After this, at 3.35 pm, the doors of Badrinath Dham were closed for winter.
