Chardham Yatra 2023 to Start from 22 April

February 20, 2023 – This Year, Chardham Yatra will start on 22nd April. The government is engaged in preparations to facilitate the journey of pilgrims coming from the country and the world. The government is hopeful that the number of devotees visiting Chardham Yatra will create a new record.

The date for opening the doors of Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham has been fixed. The doors of Badrinath will open on April 27 and Kedarnath Dham on April 25, while according to tradition, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will open on April 22, the day of Akshaya Tritiya. However, the temple committees will declare the time and date of opening the doors.

Two years after the Kovid epidemic, more than 45 lakh devotees visited Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Hemkund Sahib during the Chardham Yatra last year. Initially, the arrangements fell short due to the crowd gathered in the dams. Devotees had to wait long for darshan in Dhams and for Kedarnath Heli Seva. Looking at the experience of last year’s yatra, this time, the government is making arrangements so that the journey can be made more convinent.
