According to fresh orders issued by UDMB (Uttarakhand Devasthanam Management Board) residents of Uttarakhand can now visit the four famous temples starting 1st July 2020. However, various precautions and safety measures will be followed as directed by the board.
Only limited numbers of pilgrims will be able to visit every day & they will not be allowed to enter sanctum sanctorum (garbhagrh) and adjoining places in any of the temples.
Pilgrims will not be able to make any offerings & they are not allowed to touch idols.
However, pilgrims from containment & buffer zones cannot visit the temples.
Pilgrims have to to apply online for an e-passes on board’s website, Only pilgrims with valid e-passes will be allowed to visit.
Those above 60 years, below 10 years, Suffering from cough, cold or fever are advised not to apply for e-pass.
Hand Sanitizer, masks & proper physical distance should be maintained during their visit.
Just to add that a similar decision was taken by Uttarakhand Devasthanam Management Board earlier this month was later withdrawn following protest by locals & priests due to COVID-19.
