May 20, 2021 – The second report of cloudburst within a span of 20 days has been reported today at Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.
Due to the impact of the Tauktae cyclone, The state is experiencing continuous heavy rainfall since last evening. A Red alert was already issued by The Meteorological Department of Uttarakhand.
Earlier today, a cloudburst was reported at chakrata region of Dehradun. Multiple reports of the landslide have been reported on Badrinath Highway.
At the same time in the Kumaon region, two houses collapsed due to heavy rain. In which two died and two were seriously injured.
The government has asked all departments related to disaster management to be on alert.
A temporary shop has also been damaged by the glacier which overflowed with water at Khachada Nallah.
The road leading to Badrinath has been washed away in Lambagad due to the rise of Lambagad Nallah. A truck is also stuck in the middle of Lambagad Nallah.
A Mixer also got stuck under landslide on Badrinath highway.
